Day 1: Arrive in Hanoi – Private transfer (Optional Food Tour - please ask our staff for details)

Welcome to Hanoi and the start of your North Vietnam 7 days trip with Hanoi Travel Agency. Our driver will collect you in the arrivals hall of Noi Bai airport. He will be standing at the entrance with the lead name of your group written on a card. He will then transfer you to Hanoi to check in to your Hotel.
Once you have arrived, one of my staff will be along to greet you and to either collect the remaining payment or just give you some hints and tips about Hanoi and its vibrant busy City. The rest of the day and evening is for yourselves to enjoy the hectic lifestyle that grips every traveller when they first arrive in Hanoi.
We will also recommend an excellent restaurant in the heart of the Old Quarter, where you can delve in to the delicacies of Vietnamese cooking.

Day 2: Free time in Hanoi (B) – Optional day trips available – ask our staff!

Today you have chance to check out the Old Quarter yourself and get involved in daily local life. Venture to the landmarks such as Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum (closes at 11am and open certain days only – check online for details). Sample street food and fresh bia hoi on every street corner.

Overnight in Hotel

Day 3: Halong Bay 2D1N cruise (B,L,D)

At 8am you will be picked up from your Hotel and taken to Halong Bay on the (Imperial Legend/Royal Palace) for 2D1N. On arrival to Halong City you will board the boat and check in to your cabins and then take an exquisite seafood lunch (other options available) in the restaurant.
While you are eating lunch you will cruise through Halong Bay with views of some very interesting islets and limestone karsts. You will then arrive at the surprising cave where you will spend 45 minutes on a guided tour exploring the huge cave and learn about its history.
After this you will then get back on to the boat and sail through to the clean area where you can take part in some kayaking for 45 minutes. Here you can explore inside the limestone karsts, floating through the cave and maybe having fun with the children on who can shout and receive back the loudest echoes.
After this you will get chance to freshen up and change for dinner which will start with a welcome drink for the adults and a soft drink for the children. You will then enjoy a marvellous dinner with the rest of the passengers.
In the evening you can check out the squid fishing and then retire to the roof top with a drink or two, before retiring to your cabin for a good nights sleep.

Day 4: Halong Bay 2D1N cruise (B,L)

If you are an early riser, perhaps you would like to take part in a spot of Tai Chi on the top deck of the boat before having breakfast. You will sail through fishing villages, stop at a pearl farm and then get back on board to take a cooking class. You will be served lunch again before reaching Halong City, where your transport will be waiting to take you to Hanoi, arriving in the Old Quarter around 4.30pm-5pm.
Between 5pm and 9pm, you have chance to have dinner, do some shopping or simply relax in any number of cafes available, or the hotel. At 9pm, you will be collected and taken to the train station, for your sleeper train to Lao Cai at 10pm.

Day 5: Sapa trekking 2D1N – Homestay (B,L,D)

You will be met at Lao Cai station at around 6.30am by our shuttle bus driver and transferred to Sapa Town. You will arrive at the Panorama Hotel where you can have a buffet breakfast and relax before your local guide meets you at around 9.30am to start your trek. You will travel through the town and then in to the rice terraces of Y Linh Ho and Lao Chai, these are villages of the H’mong minority.

After lunch with a local family in Lao Chai or in a small shop nearby the river bank, we then carry on hiking to Ta Van village of the Dzay where you will stay overnight with a local family. Here you have the opportunity to experience their daily life, work and traditional customs. Check out the rice wine which is usually free to try along with a sumptuous dinner all cooked by the family.

Overnight in the local Homestay in a shared dorm (please ask if private rooms required – extra cost)

Day 6: Sapa trekking 2D1N (B,L)

After breakfast, you will enjoy a 8 km walk to visit 2 villages of the red Dzao, the H’mong (Giang Ta Chai & Su Pan). Visit a beautiful waterfall and the rattan bridge. Enjoy the landscape through a bamboo forest on the way to the main road to get the transport to return to Sapa. Tour finish in Sapa by 3PM.

At 3.30pm, our driver will collect you in the Eco Luxury bus to take you back to Hanoi. This is a 9 seater luxury bus with very comfortable leather seats, with USB port and wifi on-board.
You will make a couple of stops on the way to Hanoi, the second one where you can opt to have a hot meal at the restaurant. Arriving in Hanoi around 10pm, so you can check in to the hotel.

Day 7: Depart Hanoi – Private transfer (B)

Today if your flight is later, you will have time to pick up some last minute gifts or souvenirs around the Old Quarter before our private driver transfers you to the airport for your flight home.

Q1. Will I need a visa?
A1. We will offer you a visa letter FREE of charge if you need one (Certain countries do not need a visa for up to 15 or 30 days - please check online).
Q2. What currency can I use in Vietnam, USD or VND?
A2. Generally everyone uses VND in Hanoi, some taxis and hotels will accept USD however.
Q3. Where can I exchange my USD?
A3. We can show you the best exchange shop to give you the most for your money, generally the silver & gold shops on Hang Bac though if you wish to go yourselves.
Q4. What do I need to bring?
A4. Please check the weather for the time of year you arrive, or ask us on booking, we can advise on what you will need. But usually hat, sun cream, insect repellent are advisable necessities. You can buy cheap throwaway raincoats if it gets wet.
