Description
Private Hanoi City Tour
At 8am after you have had breakfast at the hotel, you will be picked up by your private tour guide and taken on a full day’s trip around the busy streets of Vietnam's capital, Hanoi.
First, you will visit the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum (closed Mondays and Fridays) where Uncle Ho himself resides in a glass box on display. You will pass through this area quite smoothly and then move onto the museum next door where many historical artefacts lie. You will then move on to Ho Chi Minh's stilt house where he once lived and explore the different rooms that are in view to this day.
Your guide will explain the very interesting history of Uncle Ho himself and then walk on to see the one pillar pagoda lying on the other side. This was founded by King Ly Thai To in 1049 - the structure has become an important symbol for the people of Hanoi.
After lunch you will then move on to the Temple of Literature, a Temple of Confucius which also hosts the Imperial Academy, Vietnam's first national university. Take a walk around its glorious gardens before we head to Tran Quoc Pagoda next to Truc Bach Lake, made famous by John McCain who landed here after being shot down in the war.
After this we then head to Hoan Kiem Lake where you will see the iconic red bridge and Ngoc Son Temple.
You will finish the tour here with either a Water Puppet Show or cyclo ride around the old quarter.
